Cancellations

Late cancellations and missed appointments exclude others from receiving treatment, and are an inconvenience due to the time and energy spent preparing for your arrival. If you need to cancel your appointment, please contact me as soon as possible to allow me to fill your appointment time. You may cancel via my online booking system (up to 2 hours before), by phone call or text message on 0414 818 836, or via email.

I understand that illness, emergencies and circumstances outside your control do arise, therefore I do not charge a cancellation fee when you have notified me of the cancellation by 9am (ACST) on the day of your appointment. A 50% cancellation fee may be charged at my discretion for cancellations made after this time.

Missed appointments

For missed appointments a 100% cancellation fee may be charged at my discretion. Prepaid sessions (including sessions purchased as part of a package and all online consultations) are non-refundable when unattended at the appointed time without notice. If the appointment was to be paid for by a gift voucher, the gift voucher will be considered to have been used in full. To avoid these charges, please reschedule your appointment under my very generous cancellation policy outlined in the paragraph above.

In the case of repeat cancellations or missed appointments, I reserve the right to either (a) refuse to allow any future bookings with me, or (b) require payment at least 48 hours in advance of any future sessions with me. If this payment is not made by the required deadline the booking will be cancelled to allow other clients the opportunity to take the allotted appointment time.

Late arrivals or shortened sessions

Time for your appointment has been allocated just for you. Late arrival may result in a shortened session time in order for me to honour the time of the clients who are booked directly after you. Full payment for your entire scheduled time will be required.

If you haven’t completed the online client intake form prior to your first appointment, please arrive 5-10 minutes to complete this form and therefore avoid missing out on your full treatment time.

Additionally, as an allocated treatment time has been dedicated to you, if for any reason you wish to finish the treatment early, the full cost of the appointment time slot will still be charged.

Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers must be used within 3 years of purchase. Gift vouchers will be forfeited if you fail to turn up to your booked appointment without notifying me with sufficient notice (refer to cancellations and missed appointments terms and conditions outlined above).

Gift vouchers are non-refundable. No private health rebates are available for services paid for by gift vouchers.

Packages

Unlike gift vouchers, packages have a shorter window in which the sessions must be used. This is because I am offering my services at a discount and because they are designed to fast track your health goals. Packages must be used within a 3 month period. Any sessions not used within these time frames are forfeited.

Similar to gift vouchers, a package session will be deemed to be used as payment for any appointments that you fail to attend (see missed appointments paragraph above).

Packages are non-refundable. Private health rebates may not be available for services paid for via a pre-purchased package – please check with your own health fund.

Medical advice and provision of medical information

Kinesiology is a complimentary therapy and not a diagnostic tool and does not override any advice provided by your medical doctor. Additionally, you agree to inform me at the start of your appointment (for any of my services) as to any medical conditions that may be relevant to your treatment. I may require you to regularly resubmit your client intake form to ensure your medical history is kept up to date.

Be Your Own Body Detective Masterclass

By purchasing or enrolling in Become Your Own Body Detective: A Healing Toolkit (“the Course”), you agree to the following terms.

1. What’s Included

The Course includes weekly live Zoom calls (approximately 1.5 hours each) with recordings, lifetime access to replays and downloadable resources, bonus audio meditations, access to the private Facebook support group, and three (3) 1:1 sessions with Karen, held online or in person.

2. Payment Options

You may pay for the Course either in full at the time of purchase, or via a payment plan of three (3) consecutive monthly payments.

By choosing the payment plan, you agree to complete all three payments, regardless of whether you continue to attend or use the Course materials.

3. Refund Policy

Because some Course materials, resources and the course library are made available to you immediately upon sign-up, refunds are not offered for change of mind once your purchase is complete. This includes situations where you no longer wish to take part, are unable to attend the live calls, or do not use the materials provided.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

4. 1:1 Sessions

Your Course includes three (3) 1:1 sessions with Karen.

If paying in full: all three sessions are available to book once your enrolment is confirmed.

If on the payment plan: one (1) 1:1 session becomes available with each monthly payment received. Bookings can be made in advance to protect your spot, but sessions can only be attended while your payments are up to date. Your session will be cancelled if the payment plan is not paid up to date by 24 hours before your scheduled appointment.

All 1:1 sessions must be used within three (3) months of your Course start date, unless otherwise agreed with Karen in writing. Unused sessions after this time will be forfeited.

5. Missed or Failed Payments

If a scheduled payment is missed or declined, you will be contacted by email and given the opportunity to make the payment or arrange an alternative with Karen.

If payment is not received and an arrangement cannot be agreed:

• your access to the Course content, recordings, resources and Facebook group will be paused until all outstanding payments are made; and
• any remaining unused 1:1 sessions will be forfeited.

Access to the Course content will be restored once your account is brought up to date.

6. Intellectual Property

All Course content — including videos, recordings, audio meditations, worksheets, checklists, printables, and any written or verbal material — is the intellectual property of Karen Hobbis Kinesiology and Remedial Massage.

Your enrolment gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the Course materials for your own learning and wellbeing. You must not copy, reproduce, record, distribute, sell, share, or teach any Course content to anyone outside the Course, whether for free or for payment, without written permission from Karen.

Login details and Course access are for your use only and must not be shared.

7. Health Disclaimer

The Course is educational and intended to support your wellbeing. It is not a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment. Please continue to consult your GP or appropriate health professional regarding any medical conditions, and do not stop or change any prescribed treatment without their advice.

8. Changes to the Course

Karen may make reasonable changes to Course content, scheduling or delivery where needed. If a live call needs to be rescheduled, you will be notified as soon as possible, and a recording will be made available.
